There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

1. Piazza
2. Posada
3. Pudge
4. Javy
5. Varitek
6. Kendall
7. Phillips
8. LoDuca
9. Lieberthal
10. LeCroy

Most overrated: Kendall - he doesn't hit for power, he doesn't run anymore, its unlikely he hits .325 again and the Pirates lineup has been dismantled.

Most underrated: Phillips - a talented young player who will be under a lot of radars and some may not realize he qualifies at catcher. Could do something like .300/15/70.

No - the most overrated is easily your #8. Has he done anything since 2001?

Well, its hard for me to go to bat for LoDuca since I don't really like him either. But I will say this about him: He hits for a respectable average and posts decent R and RBI totals for a catcher just by virtue of playing every day.

He's been grossly overrated the past two years on the strength of 2001, thats for sure. But I think this year there may be an overreaction in the opposite direction, as he's burned so many people they'll just completely ignore him. 2001 was a total fluke, and he'll never match that. But he isn't totally useless, and could come at a good value this year.

I wouldn't mind taking LoDuca this season. Did you read that player news blurb on Yahoo? He added like 30 pounds of muscle in the offseason? I dont' mind cashing in on his roid-use.

50 homeruns and zits on his testicles are soon to follow.
