Adam Jones OF

I picked him up as a replacement for Damon while he is on the DL. I know he has the skills to one day be a great player, but does he have great speed also? I saw that he was moved to the #2 spot in the batting order and I was wondering if this will help his SB production? I know if he stays there he will score more runs hitting in front of Markakis.

Being a Mariner fan (as much as it sickens me to admit this), I have witnessed Jones' above average speed enough to know that he has the potential to steal a decent number of bags in the future. However, he has never swiped more than 16 bags in a combined season's worth of stats so far, so I think you will have to temper expectations a bit and hope that he develops that awesome power potential of his to become a 30/20-type guy in the next couple of years. That's just my take, but I don't think he will ever steal as much as some PECOTA followers think he will ;-)

Hope this helps ;-D

Anything he can give me will be a big help because Hideki Matsui is my other OF that is on the DL. I am thinking of starting Damon Jones and Markakis and capitalizing on the extra SB Jones can give. Matsui hasn't shown that much power this year and Jones has just as much.

I could see him steal 8-10 the rest of the way (if he keeps hitting) but Im not completely sold on him this year. Mainly because I could see some of the top RBI guys (Huff, Millar, Mora) getting traded in the next month.

Of course, if Roberts gets dealt Jones probably leads off.

If I remember correctly, his minor league success rate is also fairly low, so I don't expect him to be given a green light all the time on the basepaths.
