i saw this quote in a texas rangers article "Hank Blalock has been out since the end of April, but could give the Rangers a shot in the arm when he returns after the All-Star break."
Yeah, where could we find a power 1b.... i dont know...
anyway, its still not sure hes going down. you might as well just wait until friday and find out.
and maybe yoda read something different, but what I saw is that blalock asked if would be better for the team for him to move to 1b because at the time they had vazquez doing well at 3b, davis semi-struggling in AAA for his first week or two, and chris shelton/frank cattalanotto at 1b. However ranger fans have definitely been speculating it has a lot to do with injuries..
The Rangers have decided to move Hank Blalock back to third base, the Dallas Morning News reports. So much for that experiment. Obviously, Chris Davis will get to remain the Rangers' first baseman with this news. Ramon Vazquez apparently will head back to the bench, assuming that Blalock can stay healthy for any length of time. Blalock, on the DL after wrist surgery, is expected back from the DL this weekend. Although ramon was probably better this year than hank was, he was falling off and due to go back to reality. So blalock will be a nice upgrade.
I imagine they still give hank the nod for the 5th spot in the lineup though, keeping davis down in the order. certainly better than triple A, obviously.
1. Kinsler 2. Young 3. Hamilton 4. Bradley 5. Blalock 6. Murphy 7. Davis 8. Byrd 9. Laird/Salty

In a surprising announcement, Blalock (wrist) will return as Texas’ everyday third baseman upon his return to the lineup on Friday according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
This is a surprise in the sense that Texas was insistent on Blalock returning as a first baseman, though the decision for him to return as a third baseman is absolutely the right decision. Chris Davis will remain as the starter at first base, with Ramon Vazquez headed back to a utility role.
omg. davis just hit a homer to right field that I swear would've put a hole in the wall. it was off his bat and out of the park in the blink of an eye. this kid is real, alright. he just needs to make contact and all us Davis owners are golden.
