Civ: Rev

Has anybody played this yet? I've played the demo and thought it was pretty good but I'm waiting to rent it when Blockbuster gets it tomorrow. I haven't played Civ since 3 and it seems like there is a lot going on in the console version which was probably added from 4. I was getting lost in the menus but I'm sure you just have to get used to it.

It certainly seems like it has a learning curve to it when playing on a console. I tried out the demo and it was pretty fun; and I also really enjoyed Civ 3 but my computer didn't have the firepower to handle Civ 4. I might get it eventually once I get bored of COD4/GTA/Bioshock (which might take a looong time ;-D )

I haven't ever played any Civ's but I've always wanted to, considering my favorite video games are strategy games. If anyone plays it and likes it let me know. ;-D

There was a short thread about it a while ago here:

viewtopic.php?f=170&t=316768&hilit=revolution

I don't know much about the game but from that thread it seems to be a slimmed down version of Civ 4 apparently. If you're not familiar with the Civ games and want to give it a try it's probably worth it but if you play games on your computer and your system can handle it just get Civ 4. :-b It's one of my all-time favorite games and has pretty much ruined any other strategy/war game for me I think. The depth in the the PC version is unbelievable. Still if the console version can even approach the PC version it's probably still worth it. Especially if you have never tried the Civ franchise before.

I like Rev a lot. I can't compare it to 4 because I've never played it.

Of all games out there Civ 4 will give you the biggest bang for your buck. I played GTA 4 for 50 hours before I got bored out of my mind. I have played 10 times as much Civ 4 and I still have fun playing it.

Civ Rev is definitely a watered-down version of Civ IV with slightly better graphics... I've wasted many hours on Civ IV. Just thinking about it makes me want to attack the Mongols... damn those Mongols and their horse archers!
