He has six stolen bases and five triples about halfway through the year. That would put him on pace for about 10 steals and 8 trips. Is he the new Derrek Lee as far as 1st basemen go? Or is this speed an anomaly or mirage? Is he even going to remain the primary 1st baseman next season and beyond? He had 13 steals in three NCAA seasons as well as 13 steals in three minor league seasons, so this isn't completely unprecedented. Just wondering if anybody had any thoughts on his future output in this regard. If he winds up projecting to be a 1B who you can count on for 5-10 steals per year, with the possibility of cranking out a 15sb season or two over the course of his career, that changes my opinion of him more than a bit. Especially if his power develops as it should.
Any thoughts or comments are appreciated......

Considering the topic is speed and half his steals came in June, the above comment on splits seems meh...
I guess Jackson could hit 10 steals this year. Really most guys in the majors can get to 10 steals if their teams want them to, unless they are really incredibly slow. I mean, you have 150 games or so a year, you'll get your chances against bad-throwing catchers (hell, the majority of catchers nowadays...). The only question is really, in terms of offensive strategy, why are the DBacks having their first baseman flying around the basepaths? Is it a coincidence or is this indicative of a consistent offensive philosophy? If the latter, then no reason Conor can't get 10 more attempts on the year and in future years, it's not like he's a Frank-Thomas-big 1B who has no wheels.
