Garciaparra SS eligibilty

Postby petert » Wed Jul 09, 2008 5:20 pm

I know he has zero value at firstbase but what about SS? With Furcal gone for who knows how long is Garciaparra worth a look at. I currently have renteria as my MI and he is killing me every game. I am thinking about dropping renteria and picking up Nomar. Thoughts on this move and what do people think of his value at SS?
One more game will make 5 games at SS fyi. I'm sure not to many people have picked up on that.

Even with the lack of depth at SS this year, it's hard to believe that Nomar is your most attractive FA option. He's way past his prime, and doesn't even play everyday anymore due to his age (the Dodgers want to preserve his health). The Dodgers are also looking to trade for a SS before the trading deadline, so I'm not quite sure if he'll be there for much longer.

I think this job is temporary, he will be mostly used as a fill in to give guys a day off since he is versatile in the infield. I know they have interest in Jack Wilson, either way I think they will find someone else to play short everyday.
