It came around the time after the first Power Rangers series first aired. It was just another Japanese import concept but an American version.

Jacoby Ellsbury was the original red Power Ranger. Cole Hamles asked to be the pink ranger.

The Power Rangers rule. If they played the Texas Rangers in baseball they'd win, if they played the New York Rangers in hockey they'd win, if they played Rangers F.C. in soccer, again they'd be up 9-0 before fans started a riot in the stadium so the game would have to be called.
