Best SP/RP ratio for Sporting News leagues

Postby guest » Tue Mar 02, 2004 7:13 pm

I'm trying a Sporting News "Draft and Trade" league for the first time...

Does anyone who's played on TSN before have a sense of the best SP/RP ratio to use with the 9 pitcher (1400 IP max, 900 IP min) setup?

I was thinking of 5 starters, 4 closers, with an additional occasional spot start when matchups were good. Or would I be better off with 6/3? Can someone who has played Draft and Trade before let me know which tends to work best over the course of the season.

The list draft left me with the following pitching:

SP: Oswalt, Santana, Webb, Pineiro, Kim, and Affeldt
RP: Dotel, Cordero, Benitez, Hoffman, Nen, and Chacon

What seems like the best setup?
