Matt Laporta as a Indian

I was just wondering what people thought about this trade... does this hurt/improve his fantasy value and when can we expect the new eta? as a
brewer i wasnt expecting him to be up till next year as the rest group of hitters (escobar, and gamel) need some more improvement.

I can see him getting a call sooner now. Who does Cleveland have that would get in the way? Plus they are not going to be contending this year, so you might as well see what the kid has.

LaPorta as an Indian gives his fantasy value a massive boost because he's an awesome hitting talent who isn't blocked anywhere. He could have been held back in AAA for the first 2 months if he were still a Brewer but he should get called up in September and be an opening day starter in '09.

Hopefully they give him at least a month of AAA ball before he sees MLB time. If it was me, a September callup is the soonest I would want to see him up.

He's probably going to play in the Olympics so he won't be back until September.

I am a huge Brewers fan and I know that LaPorta would not have been brought up until at least September call-ups, and probably not even until next year. Now with the Indians he will get the call to Triple-A soon, considering all of the OF's on the Triple-A team are batting below .267. LaPorta is batting .292 with 21 HR's and 70 RBI and .976 OPS.

added note: Colby Rasmus was also named to the U.S. Team

Is he playing LF in the minors? and is he liable to stay there for the Indians?
