Conversely, Kemp's also baffled by offspeed pitches when they hit the zone and lays off them. Kemp has greater success when he's ahead of the count but if he's down 0-1, 0-2, he'll either take the pitch not quite recognizing it (second guessing) or he'll chase out of the zone as you pointed out.
