i had him 2 years ago and he was very servicable. Any chance he possesses any value this year?? i just picked him up after his final rehab start

News: Marlins SP Josh Johnson, recovering from Tommy John surgery, threw eight shutout innings Friday in final rehab start at Double-A Carolina. He allowed five hits and two walks, striking out seven. He'll rejoin the Marlins rotation next week, starting either Wednesday at San Diego or Thursday at the Dodgers.
Analysis: Johnson went 12-7 with a 3.10 ERA as a rookie in 2006, so he certainly deserves a flier in all NL-only leagues. He has the potential to prove viable in mixed leagues as well if he looks up to speed right away, but give him a start or two to prove his health first.

i think he is a prime candidate for a second half gem. in keepers and dynasty leagues this guy is a must add RIGHT NOW. i picked him up a couple weeks ago in my dynasty and have been stashing him on my DL. he was brilliant 2 years ago and after last nights outing hopefully he returns to that form. in standard yahoo leagues i would wait to add him after he makes a couple starts but if your in a dynasty or keeper he is a must add right now.

Any updates? There was mention of him possibly starting Wed vs SD but it hasn't been confirmed anywhere.

I read that he is definitely starting on Thursday, July 10th. CBS has updated to include this info & since they are usually very slow to update such things, I am taking it as a sure thing.

Yes, barring any last minute setback, he should be pitching against SD. Good first game back against a weak hitting lineup. Although I think they'll limit his pitch count. Might get pulled after 5 IP if the fish is winning.

Uh, Thursday isn't San Diego. Florida's next series is against the Dodgers.

I'm thrilled. 3 ER in 5 IP hurts the ERA, but this is a great sign for Johnson for future starts....
