Boom, Outta here...Out until at least late August, per sportsline.com

This is inaccurate. Sportsline just says "out until at least August." Be careful about dropping him, as that's about a month's difference.

Don't know why you would drop him. Right now he will be looking at around 10-12 days according to sportsline. Few have as good stuff fas he does, he could come back strong.

Eeek... Latest from rotoworld:

The Seattle Times is reporting that Erik Bedard likely "won't get on a mound until August."

Bedard didn't throw over the All-Star break and won't attempt to play catch until Monday. "We're not looking at trying to pitch him before the 31st (of July)," manager Jim Riggleman said. "It's really all going to be based on how he feels. The 31st is kind of irrelevant when a guy's got a tender arm." Jul. 19 - 12:05 pm et

If he's not on a mound until August, that's a good-sized layoff and he'll need some time before he's ready to pitch in a game. What's the prognosis now, mid-August?

I predict Carpenter will be more productive for the second half of the season then this loser.

So would it be too rash to drop him at this point? Inuries are piling up on my staff (K Wood and Chris Young also on DL).

Bedard won't pitch before the trade deadline, meaning he is almost certainly staying in Seattle (ugh).

I wish I could feel confident dropping him, but there doesn't seem to be a clear timetable. Sportline keeps reporting Bedard won't pitch again until "at least August" as though the sky is falling, but that's just a week away. :-?

Is he droppable yet? I am thinking about picking up Nolasco, but I hate to give up on Bedard if he may be full strength during the end of the fantasy season. (a big maybe there)

Do not drop him. Especially in H2H leagues. He should be back mid-August and he could be big in the fantasy playoffs.
