Pirates recalled outfielder Steve Pearce from Triple-A Indianapolis.
To do what? The Pirates aren't going to sit Adam LaRoche or either corner outfielder, so unless a trade comes, Pearce won't do much more than pinch-hit, and as mediocre as he's been this year, it's doubtful he'd be of any use while getting a handful of at-bats per week. He was hitting .259/.311/.445 in Triple-A.

eh not really a fan of pearce. he has okay numbers in the minors this year nothing spectacular. he pinch hit in the game tonight and went 0-1. the prospect to watch in pitt is andrew mccutchen.

EDIT: forgot to add yahoo reported that he will most likely get sent back down once phil dumatrait is activated from the DL on monday.

I am adding Pearce now and holding him until they trade Nady. Won't take long. His numbers are a bit deceiving as he started off very poorly but picked up the pace lately. He'll be playing RF by August.
