ESPN My Wish

Anyone else see this stuff?

I was caught off guard this morning when I was scrambling a few eggs and the next thing I know I am reaching for the tissue box. I rarely cry, but I am a sucker for kids.

ESPN is the MTV of sports television. Just show sports 20 hours per day. Have a SportsCenter in the morning, at noon at six-ish and at 11-ish, and that's it. All the other claptrap and nonsense belongs on ESPN2, Classic or Ocho, depending on the quality of show or the level of sport involved.

Even though I like those feel good stories I have to agree with knapp, they really need to leave that stuff off the OG ESPN. :-?

I was gonna post on this the other day.

Big fan! I don't mind this stuff being on standard ESPN -- it is more than sports related. Trust me, if "Who's Now" competitions get on ESPN, this stuff should more than certainly be there!

Cleveland Indians was a really good one. Looking forward to the Shaq one -- I'm a big fan of the big man and I know he does a bunch of this stuff.

On a side note, Nick Swisher has his "Swishes Wishes" organization and he does this stuff all the time, without the TV focus on him. Right now I know he has a family visiting in Chicago on his dime -- their kid lost his leg at age one and he's been given one heck of a time at the Sox game and all around the city ;-D

Give me a break those of you who have no soul. You telling me that hearing a story of an athlete who grants a last wish to the kid dying of cancer should be on ESPN 2. ESPN reports all the bad news on athletes and I find it refreshing to see some athletes giving back to the less fortunate. Anything that can raise awareness and possibly help children who really need it iswelcome in my book and I don't find it to be a distraction. Sports involves more than just last nights marquee Royals/Mariners matchup in the middle of the season.

Make a Wish does this stuff all the time, ESPN just teams up with them once a year and shows it for a week. One of the best charity's out there IMO.
