Diamondbacks placed catcher Chris Snyder on the disabled list with a left testicular fracture.
That's gotta be even worse than an anal fissure. Snyder was injured when he was hit by a foul tip last night.

How does this happen? Isn't he supposed to have on a cup?
Did anyone watch the game? Did he throw up on the plate afterwards? Just reading about it made my saliva glands start cranking out spit like before I throw up.

I think an incident like this would be more than enough for me to convert to an OF position, or even to a middle relief role so that I would never have to be in the line of fire again, either in the C slot or in the batters box. Scary.

I remember taking a ball off the cup when trying to field a one-hopper in little league, it helps but you still feel it in up into your stomach...


It was off a foul tip so it may have actualy hit behind the area covered by the cup due to the squat and the foul tip off the ground or something.

i wonder if catchers wear cups with extra protection? they get gloves with extra protection so why not for the fellas?
