Do I drop this guy in H2H Points non-keeper leagues?

Any chance this mention of bullpen demotion makes him do a 180 like it seemed to do for Oliver Perez in his last start against the Yanks? Maybe he gets his head back in the game and becomes a good pitcher again?

Just wondering if I should hang on to him and take up a bench spot.

I think it depends on what kind of pitchers are available in your league. If there is anyone decent I would think about picking them up and dropping myers.

Its slim pickings out there...

Wandy Rodriguez (probably the best option)
Campillo (can he keep it up?)
Oliver Perez (if you dont mind migraines)
Nolasco (can he keep it up?)
Randy J (if he doesnt break something)
Garza (too inconsistent for me)

Wandy is money in the bank in home starts and a must sit in most road starts. Randy Johnson has pretty much sucked donkey balls over his last 4 or so starts I think. Oliver Perez had a good last start and the Mets claim they fixed a problem in his delivery.

Myers looks like a lost cause this season, but another possibility the Phillies have thrown out is skipping a start and seeing if that helps him clear his head instead of sending him to the pen right now.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with Myers, provided you start him at home ONLY.

His home ERA of 3.81 is almost a carbon copy of his home ERA last year and in 2006. His last 3 games at home shows him with an ERA of nearly 3.00, a WHIP of nearly 1.00 and 26K's.

There is nothing wrong with him physically. Don't believe me? Look REALLY hard at his home/away splits for the last 3 years and you will see. The guy is a total head case and cannot focus on the road.

Cut him for Wandy. I'll bet no one claims him off waivers immediately, and you can monitor the situation without having him burn a roster spot for a couple weeks, and re-claim him if you choose.

Unless your league counts AAA stats, I'd drop him. From CBS Sportsline:
-------------------------------------
Brett Myers, leading the major leagues with 24 home runs allowed and coming off the shortest start of his career with the Phillies, is headed back to the minor leagues. Myers agreed to be optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday. Myers, 3-9 after giving up five runs and getting knocked out without retiring a batter in the third inning in Friday night's 8-7 loss at Texas, has a 5.84 ERA. Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said he spoke with Myers on Monday about accepting the assignment to work on his delivery. Myers, who has more than five years experience in the majors, had the right to decline the assignment and asked for a day to consider the move. The Phillies are 1-11 in the past 12 games started by Myers, who is 1-8 in that stretch.

Look REALLY hard at his last home start. 4 runs in 7 2/3 IP, 3 HR allowed. And that was vs a team tied for 2nd to last in runs scored in the AL. The splits are deceiving at this point, he was headed in the wrong direction at home too.
