Magglio Ordonez was taken out of Saturday's game because of an oblique injury.

According to the Tigers, he suffered a spasm in his right oblique and lat. If that's all it is, then he'd be day-to-day. However, he'll be reevaluated on Sunday. He was already scheduled to have tomorrow off anyway.

Placed on the DL today

The Tigers are going to be without Magglio Ordonez for a while.

Because of a pulled oblique, Ordonez was placed on the 15-day disabled list before Sunday's game. After leaving Saturday night's game because of the problem, he said he also experienced discomfort overnight -- so the Tigers didn't hesitate in making a move.

They recalled outfielder Matt Joyce from Toledo.
