Papelbon save last night?

Postby AquaMan2342 » Sat Jun 28, 2008 11:32 am

Papelbon comes in with two outs yesterday and one man on. Boston is up by five runs. Nowhere is the lead threatened or are there enough men on base to consider this a save situation. How did he get the save? I don't get it.

Sox scored two runs in the 9th to make the score 6-1 after Papelbon had already got one out. When Paps came in the lead was just 3.
