Thames sits again

Postby rcarena » Fri Jun 27, 2008 6:55 pm

Is this a punishment for his blowup a few nights ago, or has Leyland cut out his legs and thrown him back into a platoon.

Seems like a hellava time to sit him, during a hot streak.

My brother in law had Thames active today in favor of...

Carlos Delgado. %-6

Not that Carlos merited being active but at this very moment the 2 jacks and 9 rbi look really gross an bench stats.
My Friendliness bar...recently shrunk from 11.3 to 10mm long!!

Thames is a career platoon guy. He should never play regularly against RHP and put simply you should never expect him to.

LF Marcus Thames was not in the starting lineup for the second straight game Friday. "His feet got a little quick (at the plate) the other night," manager Jim Leyland said. "He's the left fielder. But I want to slow him down a little right now." The fact OF Clete Thomas is performing well makes it easy for Leyland to back Thames off a little. Expect him back in the lineup Saturday.

From his Yahoo! player note...answers my question a bit. I'll let him loose to crush Francis today.
