I find it interesting that teams are paying him money to do these things when in the public eye they "frown" upon it, saying it ruins the experience for many fans.

It makes sense, that isn't that much money to a sports franchise and it just takes one really annoying guy to get the crowd to make some noise so. Be a sweet job get paid to go watch athletic games, but a lot of people who probably not like you.

What a great job. I am not really surprised. Cheering can be contagious, just like laughter, and fans will enjoy games more if they cheer.
