Jay Bruce...

I'm a bit surpised that very few forum discussions have involved the current fantasy value of Mr. Bruce. He took the fantasy world by storm for a few weeks - exceeding all the hype and expectations. And now, unless I'm overlooking some intangeables, he is marginal at BEST hitting leadoff for a crappy team.
Don't know about you but he has been absolutely killing my team. So after last nights "O-fer"... I cut bait.

My decision has been made but just curious what everyone plans on doing with him.

This is the way a lot of prospects go, they come up hot because pitchers are seeing him for the first time and don't have much information on them. The second time around the league, film has made it to all the teams and they have adjusted the way they pitch to him. It is now time for Bruce to make his adjustment.

by "cut bait" do you mean that you dropped him? Unless your in a small league or have real shallow benches, i certainly wouldn't have dropped him. I benched him myself, but a couple week slump isn't enough to make me drop an elite prospect.

I dropped him last week. The guy in first place grabbed him up quick, and has been bringing down his average ever since. I have too many OF's as it is, all of which are producing well, so Bruce was more of a luxury than a need for me.
He may very well turn it around, but in the mean time I've got some categories to win.

i'm in a keeper league so i'll make room on my bench for him for now. drink some of the Jimmy E coolaid and hope Bruce turns it around..or i don't get so many injuries on the team that i'm forced to cut him to compete.

well as soon as he gets hot again those of us that held on to him will be happy while you watch him tear it up for another team in your league.
