He has been having solid rehab starts and could return right before or after the all-star break.

I expect him to be solid upon his return, although I would temper expectations a bit. He is coming off elbow surgery and he was never projected to be a top of the rotation guy (too bad he's not a lefty - David Price :-L ). While I like his size, it has its advantages (mound presence) and a disadvantages (command/injuries). I know it's not a stretch by any means, but I really, really like Cueto for the rest of the year... If he's somehow on your WW, pick him up immediately.

yeah, his great season in 2005 was really fluky. id be super surprised if he repeated anything close to those numbers.

I think he can be very solid this year. He has good enough stuff and advanced very quickly before the arm injury.

Thing I worry about with Johnson is this isn't the first arm problem he has had. He has had a couple arm issues.

It was 2006 and what do you base that assumption on. It's far more likely that his poor numbers last year were the fluke and he was legit in his rookie year.

I think the original poster offers some excellent advice. If you have a DL spot open then he is well worth the risk for those that are scrambling around looking for a decent 5th starter.

Yawn... I'd take either underowned Minnesota Twin starter- Kevin Slowey or Scott Baker- over Johnson and they are already healthy and pitching. JJ made a nice splash as a rookie, but I wouldn't get the least bit excited about him until I saw at least 3 or 4 good starts under his belt in 2008. I seriously doubt he'd be picked up in any but the deepest of leagues before he has at least some solid starts.
