Jim Edmonds?!?

What do you guys feel about the slugger? Is he actually fantasy relevant? It seems the North Side has rejuvenated him somewhat. I personally can't see anyone I have on my teams that I would drop for him, yet. His last month though, has been pretty impressive! But, the platooning issue does raise some doubts. What do you guys think?

Last month:
.349 5hrs. 19rbi

Last week
.250 3hrs. 5rbi (not including tonight)

Tonight (so far)
1/2 1hr. 2rbi 1bb

The platoon situation shouldn't be a problem for another week or so. Reed Johnson is on the DL.
If you can, ride the wave until he cools off.

Jim Edmonds is, by far, my least favorite player ever. I really can't stand that guy.

:-b Why? I don't disagree I just want reasons cause why I don't have strong feelings either way I think Edmonds is one of the most interesting and entertaining players I have seen. Is the the blank stare? The frosted tips? Diving for routine fly balls? Taking 2 minutes to get up after a dive?

A little of all of that, I suppose. I know that it's an irrational dislike for the guy, and I'm sure my reasons aren't good ones, but the very essence of his being disgusts me. I think if I had to pin-point one single thing as being what bothers me most, it would be the way--when he hits a homerun--he very subtly pauses and watches the ball for just a brief second while maintaining the follow through from his backswing before starting around the bases. That bothers me far more than any of the elaborate or obvious spectacles that other guys do when they hit them.

See there are two Edmonds HR watches. The first when he pulls the ball and starts walking to first acting really cocky and the second when he lofts one the opposite field and almost leans back while watching it from the box. Like I said I'm entertained by Edmonds. My wife describes him as "What would happen if you put a golden retriever's brain in a professional athelete's body".

You forgot the part where he drops his head all the way down before beginning his trot. :-)
