If the Mayans are so smart, how come they're dead?

No, seriously, if they were smarter than today's scientists, how come they didn't fight off disease or invasion? Why do people believe in this nonsense?

I remember I had a science teacher way back in 1996 who was convinced by the theory that the world would end on Cinco de Mayo 2000. Bless him.

Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.

it saddens me when todays college students lack reading comprehension. But hey, using your logic ... todays scientist's can't explain the Pyramids. They only have theory's. Apparently those Egyptians were much smarter than us. Puma Punku, anybody? What about the Greeks. those dudes were performing brain surgery 2500 years ago. Ive seen Bill and Teds too. i know!

I'm pretty sure that today's scientists could figure out a much more effective way of building pyramids than the Egyptians used.

more efficient, sure. im not saying, nor have i said anywhere that they had more knowledge, as in volumes of, than we do today. its just that they did things that we can't explain, even today. and besides, i was clearly using neato logic there.

I scored a 33 on the reading portion of the ACT :^ Not like I need reading comprehension as a chem major anyway.

Also, scientists do have many possible models describing how the pyramids were built. The only reason we don't know which one was actually used is because historical records from 4,000 years ago are fairly spotty. It's another common myth that's popular for some reason despite making no sense. They use ramps....and mud. SOLVED
