That is not the reason Manuel is benching Wright. Wright getting benched was for that costly error last night. This will either make Wright resentful and tank the rest of the year, or it might motivate him to come back like a house on fire. Regardless, Manuel is quickly burning his bridges with the Mets team.

I highly doubt a guy like David Wright will take this the wrong way. He doesn't seem like the type that would purposely hurt his team. I hate him when he faces the Cubbies, but I root for him when he doesn't (fantasy baseball-wise and not). Good character and Great Player.

I read Wright was the only player left in the league who hadnt missed a game? If this is true what a shame. It dosent seem like anybody will play the whole season ever again.

Actually he was the only one that had played every inning of every game to this point in the season. He's definitely been sucking donkey balls lately though. He has yet to resemble anything close to a first round pick with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 hot weeks.

Yes, an unfortunate choice of word that I had use. I meant to say demotivated (if there is such a word), which might cause his stats to suffer unconciously. Baseball is a mental game after all.
