I hate bike riding, it's for pansies, especially stationary bike and most especially spinning classes. Instead of running I'm taking a yoga class and I'm playing hockey twice a week this winter. Think that I'll start swimming for cardio. Winter sucks.
I ran a 1:47:45 half marathon this summer on little training and not surprisingly got the dreaded shin splints. I have been so incredibly lazy since then (moved halfway across the US before moving to the opposite side of the world - taiwan) that the shin splints are gone but now I'm so tight from not working out that I am not going to start running again until I've fixed my general fitness level. I'll be starting with cycling and stretching but swimming and yoga would be great if I can find somewhere good/cheap.
I haven't run more than a mile in about five years, but I'm training for a 10K. I have until August, so shouldn't be a problem getting in shape for it, but the run takes place at almost 8,000 ft., so that will make it more challenging.
yes, but I still haven't gotten into a regular running schedule and it's starting to get very hot and humid. But I get about 60 mins of biking in a day (commuting) and the races here don't start until october/november.
