Being new to fantasy baseball... in Yahoo FB league settings there is "Minimum innings pitched". What does this mean exactly?

Minimum IP limits are used to prevent people from using all-reliever strategies (sweeping categories such as saves, era, and whip while ignoring w, k, and the like). If a team doesn't reach the IP minium, it automatically receives the lowest number of points in all pitching categories.

If the minimum innings pitched is set to 7, what does that mean? Does each pitcher on my roster have to pitch 7 innings a week? I'm new to this too. Thanks.

all your pitchers innings in a week added together need to add to 7, if you only have a couple closers going, and dont start any starters, and get only 5 innings for example, but have a great era and whip, you wont get those stats. ALl your pitchers innings added together need to be more than 7 which is not that many anyways.

If you're in a weekly head-to-head league, yes. Otherwise, teams could stock up on hitting, add a closer, and have a good chance of winning 8 of 10 categories (in 5x5 scoring) each week.

The minimum is usually for the entire pitching staff (otherwise, a closer who throws an inning or two would be worthless). Always check your league's exact rules though. :-)

"Head-to-Head Leagues
In all Public Leagues, the active members of a pitching staff must throw at least seven (7) total innings each week. Should a staff fail to meet this requirement, that team will automatically lose all five of the pitching matchups."

so each pitcher has to throw for whatever the IP minimum is set to

it is not a requirement for each pitcher but the whole staff. as long as your staff throws the minimum, you are fine, every guy doesnt need to throw the minimum
