Two things. The umpires in that clip are morons. The pitcher must choose his side FIRST and can not change during the at bat. A Switch hitter can change between pitches (like if a reliever comes on mid-atbat). The fact that they let a pitcher throw extra warmup mid-inning is bs too.
Though it doesnt really matter. Maybe if he worked on one arm he would be a one-armed major league pitcher instead of a two armed single a pitcher...

Wow. That video is just painful to watch.
I guess you can't possibly expect the umpires in low-level minor leagues to know the rules on a switch-handed pitcher. I wonder if this happened every time there was a switch hitter early in his career.

Pitcher Steps on the mound first normally, so then the hitter has to decide after that
Pitcher would normally make the hitter hit from his worse side anyways.
Once an AB starts you CANNOT change hands, or sides of the plate
I'm pretty sure this is wrong. I think I've seen hitters switch sides when another reliever is brought in after an injury, which would of course be AFTER an AB starts. In any event, this is interesting and here's hoping this guy cracks the league.

A hitter can switch whenever he wants, but a pitcher cannot switch after the atbat starts. I would rather make this kid pitch lefty anyway (assuming i am equal from both sides).

I have a vague memory that the specific rule for the batter has to do with not being allowed to cross the plate while the pitcher is on the rubber. But I could be making that up. In any case, it allows for the batter to switch sides between pitches.
