Bedard out with a hurt back

Postby kaiser » Fri Jun 20, 2008 8:22 pm

Erik Bedard just left the game in Atlanta. Announcers said he looked like he hurt his back. A trainer was helping him down the steps from the dugout to the clubhouse.

I read something on cbssportsline that he was holding his left arm. I really hope its only his back.

Wow these pitchers are really showing their true colors on the basepaths. What a puss.

This didn't occur immediately after he was on the basepaths, although he did get a single an inning or two earlier. He finished an inning showing no visible signs of pain, but then was shown leaving the dugout a few minutes later.

Atlanta announcers saying the Mariners are saying it's back spasms on the right side. Maybe instead of a manager, the Mariners need a massage therapist?

It's been reported that's a distinct possibility. I would they want him to be healthy and pitch a few games before the trade deadline. Just a few weeks ago there seemed no chance he'd get traded, now the rhetoric seems to more along the line of they can't wait to run him out of town, possibly because he has the most trade value, even now, of anyone they would likely trade.

Yeah hes definitely gone. They couldn't be unhappier with how he has turned out for him and he will probably be much healthier and happier on a contender in the NL.
