According to Ken Rosenthal, the Blue Jays are set to announce the firing of manager John Gibbons today. Cito Gaston, who brought two World Series championships to Toronto, will return as manager.

Gibbons falls because Ricciardi is spastic on the radio?

Just heard that Gibbons is going to be fired before tonight's game and is going to be replaced by Cito Gaston

Remember when didn't pitch "mike mussina??" in the Allstar game in Baltimore or something.

So we're going from a manager that had a habit of antagonizing his players to a manager that practically falls asleep in the dugout during games. Pretty big difference in personalities but we'll see how the players respond. Either way getting rid of Gibbons is a good thing. Here's hoping for the best! ;-D

Yeah, Cito took a lot of heat for that one. Mussina started warming up in the bullpen without being called because he wanted to show up Cito when it was looking like he wouldn't get into the game.

I think that was the beginning of the "every player on the team must get to play" era we seem to be in now. Which ultimately led to the all-star tie game we had a few years ago.

Well another one bites the dust. The Blue Jays have fired Gibbons and replaced him with Cito Gaston.

Three managers to go in week. Not bad.

Gibbons was horrible anyway. Looks to me like JP is just trying to shift the focus away from himself and that ridiculous tirade about Dunn. What a moron.

One day after beakin' off about Adam Dunn and making himself look like an idiot he goes and fires his manager and hires the beloved Cito Gaston to take some of the heat off himself.

Coincidence? I think so.
