Players who have been cancers to your fantasy teams

I traded Atkins for Bedard and then Francouer for McGowan and both pitchers have been killing me...Hopefully with some rest each of them can come back * after the All-Star Break and contribute a few quality starts.

*Damn, just read McGowan could be out for the year....hope he, Smoltz and Gallardo enjoy their view from the sidelines while my team plummets into last place....

I had Hafner in nearly every league. The only positive is that he struggled from the start and just occupied my bench most of the time.

V-Mart in a few others. That was about the worst situation possible as he was getting on base at a good rate when healthy, so you'd figure he'd eventually get some RBI and a HR. No. It was a joyous day when he was finally put on the DL for a long time. Plus, the timing was good as it was just before Doumit started heating up in his return from the DL.

Alex Rios. In the league I have him, I'm stacked with OF's, and virtually locked in 2nd in steals. So, I have no reason to play him. And nobody wants to trade for him. Yet, I still think he's valuable enough not to just dump. Ugh.

My worst cancer was Rafael Soriano.....Drafted the guy in a good/late spot, kept him around for a little bit, then dropped him and he didn't do anything for me.

HOWEVER, where he really screwed me is when he was going on the DL for the first time, Yahoo took a couple days to actually list him on the DL, I planned on picking up Edison Volquez as soon as he was placed. Then, BOOM, picked up by another manager right before he goes on the DL. AWESOME!

Chris B Young was my team cancer...but now he's gone and the team batting average is most grateful. He *might* get to 10 sb on the year by accident but I wouldn't bet on it.

I'd have to say Burnett and Harang. I think my era would be down at least 1.00 without them but i'd lose over 200k's.

Freaken Burnett, he pitches well 1 of every 3 or four games, just enough to make you hate him even more. He pitches a good game so you stick him in there, then he sucks for 2 or 3 games until you decide to bench him again, then while on your bench he pitches a gem like today against the yanks on 3 games rest. You have to be kidding me.
