Players who have been cancers to your fantasy teams

Are there any guys that you still haven't dropped and have just been cancerous to your team's success?

On one of my teams, I have pretty much only started AJ Burnett when he gets destroyed.

My overall team line is 562.2 IP 41 W 43 S 541 K 3.35 ERA 1.29 WHIP, which has still been dominant and I lead that league by a wide margin so it's really why he's still around.

From my team log, here is Burnett's contribution:

52.1 IP 2 W 53 K 7.22 ERA 1.72 WHIP

Without him, my ratios plummet to a 2.95 ERA and 1.13 WHIP. Without Burnett or replacing his innings, I lose no points in Wins and ERA, drop 2 in Ks, and gain SEVEN in WHIP.

It was sad when I calculated this today after his latest thrashing and realized one player has cost me 5 points.

I have a near-identical season log with Burnett, though I haven't been as fortunate as you in that league...

I own Edinson Volquez on that team. Without him, Burnett would have tanked me a long time ago.

funny, as i was reading teh title the first player taht came to mind was AJ Burnett. i "had" him on 3 teams until last night. he started terribly, when i was starting him everyday. then i start to bench him and he throws some good games, so i start to start him again. then he blows up like yesterday and kill my era and whip for the week. what a waste of a draft pick

I second Konerko. Everything pointed towards him having a rebound season after last year's disappointment, and he only killed my team's BA (among everything else) early.

Brett Myers and Roy Oswalt...WITHOUT A DOUBT...especially when you consider they both are on most of my teams...oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes.

I've cut all 3 by now, but they got their damage in.

Konerko,Hafner,and Howard. Cut or traded all 3 while there was still some value to be had.
