Cole Hamels sig.. see any progression in me???

I slapped this together... I messed around with a few more of the things gimp has to offer and try to keep learning, what do you think??? Ik i need to still work on my cutting. and is it just me or do my players always seem to look really low quality?almost like blury

yes the pic looks very blurry. i see progress overall, but you really need to work on the player render. im not sure what you're doing wrong, but it really does take away from the rest of the sig.

are you enlarging the pictures??? that will definitely cause the pics to become more blurry.

Getting better abrage. Keep working at it. Only thing is like Snakes has already mentioned...dont enlarge pics. Try to use big pics all the time. That way if you do shrink them the quality will not take a hit and big pics just look much better.

yeah, you never want to enlarge a picture. ever. you want to start with them as big as can be, and then make them smaller if need be.

thats what makes finding a good picture so hard in my opinion. you want a very large pic to start with, but at the same time you want a lot in that 400x100 range. for example, you can find an awesome picture of any pitcher, but you want one where the head and arm are both in the same frames, ya know?

You could actually stick the whole picture in your sig and duplicate it, and then just use a smudge brush to brush around the player as much as possible, this prevents you to cut it and make it blurry, and adds some design.. Just a though, ive done it b4.
