Hm. I guess with all the ragging on Braun's infield defensive inadequacy I've been hearing, the thought of them putting him back at third seems ridiculous. I guess it could happen if they're really set on seeing what LaPorta can do in the bigs, though. I would be surprised if they did, is all.

I'm sure we can agree that Braun's not going to SS, anyway

;-D yes we can agree on that ;-D :-D

Chris davis just homered yet again.
Seriously, his ops in AAA is 1.17 after .998 in AA earlier in the year and leading all minor leaguers under 27 in homeruns/rbis last year.

I dont care how iffy your k/bb rate is, hes destroying everything. And his K/BB rate is actually more respectable (though not good) in AAA than it was in AA.

If blalock has another setback I expect him to be called up.

edit: and singled in his next AB, hitting 358

He's picked it up some, hitting to the line of .348/.430/.565 in June.

I think Rasmus would be up already if it wasn't for Ludwick's ridiculous tear and Schumaker's .300 average. A couple weeks ago when there was talk of Ankiel being hurt I thought we might see him, but with Barton struggling, it may not be long before we see Rasmus. I think/hope by the ASB their OF has Rasmus in LF, Ankiel in CF and Ludwick in RF.

Rasmus hasn't even been the best OF in Memphis. Nick Stavinoha is having a very fine year and deserves a shot as well...

I hate to be a pain, but there is no way Stavinoha will be an impact call up. Oh he may come up and do well for a while, at some point. But impact in 2008? Long term impact? I doubt it.

1) As I posted earlier, the Cards outfield is crowded, hard for anyone in St. Louis to find ABs there until there is a trade/injury.
2) If they do make playing time in St. Louis OF, they will do it for Rasmus, one of the top prospects in all baseball. Stravinoha is having a good year, but is not a top prospect

Some notes on Stavinoha:
- not in anyones preseason top 10 St. Louis prospect list
- Is 26 years old. Typically long term impact players are in the MLB in their early 20s.
- Is indeed batting .349 AAA, but other indicators show he is playing over his head. In AAA last year he hit .261.
- has only 11 walks in 276 plate appearances this year.

I think Stavinoha is a one year wonder. Ceiling of reserve OF in the majors, more likely a journeyman AAAA player.
There are a few things with the New York Yankees that never change. That's pride, tradition, and most of all, we have the greatest fans in the world. -Derek Jeter, 9/21/08 -- last words from old Yankee Stadium

I'll go with Clay Buchholz. I think DiceK's shoulder will be a problem all year.

regarding the Brewer prospects and shuffling positions etc, I think one or both could be involved in a CC Sabathia deal

I don't think they'd be willing to pay to sign CC long term. While they certainly have pieces to make it happen, I think the money will prevent it.

He pitches for the reds and suppose to be getting his first start agaisnt the yankee's on Saturday.

How much of an impact will he make?

Well he pitcheds pretty good agaisnt the yankee's shut them out in 5 innings.

No one responded to this, so I am assuming is wont be an impact?
