I also don't like the "escape hatch" that a pitcher gets in the early innings with the pitcher batting.
For example if there are two on with two out, the 8th hitter gets walked so the SP has to bat, innings/rally over. That really cheapens the game for me. I like the "no escape" nature of the AL. If you aren't good enough, there is no pitcher to pitch to.



There is a Tony Pena Jnr and a Kenji Johjima, but that's a different story

I also don't like how the NL is generally seen as having more strategy in it. Wow, they sac bunt a few more times (which quite frequently isn't a good thing), and do a few double switches in a game. Such clever strategists these NL managers are with all that difficult stuff.

Most pitchers can't even lay down a successful sac bunt. I'll bet it's 50/50 success ratio at best.
