T. Buchholz soon new Rox closer??

With the talk around a Fuentes trade heating up (including both NY teams inquiring about him), does anyone care to opine on a) what the chances he gets dealt are? and b) does Buchholz get the nod in the 9th when that happens? I can't see them going back to Corpas, but I guess you never know.

As a closer with SP eligibility (in Yahoo), he'd be pretty valuable to many if that was the case.

I don't know why either NY teams would be going out for Fuentes right now when they both seem to have a set CL and SU pitcher. As for them going to Buccholz, I guess I could see it happening because he's been pitching some nice baseball this season but they'd probably give Corpas one more go before resorting to that option. Corpas was pretty much untouchable last year and completely turned around this season and has yet to get his ERA under 6

Buccholz would be a nice closer in a time where it seems a bunch of CL are getting injured and the SP eligibility adds a nice touch to it but I can't really see it happening anytime soon.

Searched Taylor Buchholz before I posted and nothing popped up. Didn't see the Fuentes thread. But, to be honest, Fuentes doesn't hold much value in our league where Buchholz would be hugely valueable, so I'm a lot more interested in the answer to the second question. That thread doesn't really answer my question.

I think there's a pretty decent chance that Fuentes gets dealt; I don't have a prediction as to where though - whoever gives the Rockies the best bounty (hopefully).

If Buchholz keeps pitching well and Corpas doesn't regain any of his previous form, I'd hope Bucky would get the first shot at the vacant closer's role, but it's hard to say. He's certainly settled into the set up role very well; he's a completely different pitcher than last season.

While just about everyone sees Buchholz as the closer in waiting, is there are reason to think they'd trade Fuentes in the next month? Most trades this time of year seem to happen in the last week before the deadline. Hard to get excited yet when the odds are the closing situation in COL is a month or more away from changing.
