How close are your standings? Either Roto or H2H is fine.

Here is my league's standings, a standard 5x5 H2H league with friends. Top 6 make the playoffs.

That really isn't close. Your lead may be slim(to some extent), but after 3rd, there seems to be no competition.

that's not close at all .

None of my leagues are really close. Either teams are running away with the lead, or there's a 2 team competition and then a huge drop off. My most closest league looks like this.

places 3-8 change on a daily basis. I've never seen a team go from 3rd to 8th place overnight. It's been like this for the past 2 months also.
