do u think the yankees pitching staff, includiong relief pitchers, is better than last year?

think about it they lost pettite they got javier vazquez (i cant spell)

they lost clemens and got brown

no more wells who had a good game every once in a while...he was goin down the tubes his back was going and still is...

and the bullpen looks like its a lot better than it was last year...i think the starters got a lil younger but the bullpen is the same age range but better...IMO

I think the rotation got stronger with the addition of Vasquez dispite the loss of AP and his 4.00+ ERA.

The bullpen is significantly stronger with Flash and Quantrill and if Orlando Hernandez signs on as an emergency starter/long reliever, I think that helps even more.

yeah, but brown is always injured, vazquez is coming in from monteal (not used to pressure situations) and Leiber is coming off surgery

Of those three I think Brown is the most questionable (off and on injuries). Vazquez is too talented to suffer all year from culture shock. He's no Weaver thankfully. Lieber I feel will come back from surgery fine.

I'm torn on the vote because the bullpen is thumbs up better (I lost count of the number of RP's they burned through the season) but I think the Yanks will feel it by not having ANY left-handed pitching, especially against those beantown boys.

Also, I agree that AP carried only a so-so ERA but he brought it when it counted: in the playoffs.

So, taking both starters and 'pen together I would have to say NO they did not get better but they did not get worse either.

So far, other than K-Brown, this team has looked very short of dominant... hopefully Moose (who's on my Fantasy Team) will settle down eventually.

I'm still not sold on this lineup for an entire season. They still have no lefties and they still are old and injury prone. Time will tell.
