Yahoo quotes:
"Jun 12 FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal reports the Milwaukee Brewers have been scouting Baltimore Orioles 2B Brian Roberts. "
Anyone else know if there is a good chance of this happening?? I guess they are tired of Week's lack of production?? If he goes to MIL, do you think his value would increase significantly being in a better lineup??

I've read things from Milwaukee papers where the Brewers have said they have no interest in Brian Roberts, and that the scouts were on a normal scouting assignment of another team. Who knows what to believe. His numbers could take a boost at the top of that lineup, especially in runs

wow, IMO that would boost roberts stock tremendously. he would probably hit in the 2 spot in front of braun and fielder. you can't tell me that wouldn't boost his run production. if the brewers want to do it they certainly have the fire power to do it with laporta, gamel, and escobar in the minors that they could certainly trade one of them for him.

Doug Melvin denies interest in Roberts"We haven't been scouting Roberts," said Melvin. "That was brought up in the spring when the Orioles were talking to the Cubs about him. They were wanting to get us involved. We've had no special assignment scout looking at Roberts."
Who knows for sure, but Melvin seems pretty adament that they're not looking to replace Weeks.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Melvin's quote. He almost has to say something like that to protect Weeks. If he says "Yeah, we're very interested in getting Brian Roberts and moving Weeks to the bench", Weeks will be angry and not feel like the team actually wants him...

Lack of Weeks production? Outside of a nasty BA, Weeks has done his job. He has murdered fantasy managers BA week in and week out, but that isn't anything we already didn't know about him. If he could hit .255 he'd be a fantasy stud!

I would love it if Roberts was traded to the Brewers.
