move Pujols to win now?

Postby kfix19 » Thu Jun 12, 2008 1:05 pm

Here is my current team

C - Pierzinsky and Doumit
1B - Pujols and Morneau
2B - Pedroia
3b - ARod
SS - Reyes and Hardy
OF - Pence, Hawpe, J. Upton, D. Young, Milledge, Hermida, LaPorta
SP - DiceK, King Felix, Bedard, Lincecum, Ownings, Pelfrey, Arroyo, Kennedy, Guthrie
RP - Lyon

*This is a Head-to-Head Keeper League where we Keep 3 players and then during the draft you get to protect another player once someone is drafted from your team. I am currently 4-6 and in need of a big move.

Would you move Pujols to help out the team? Go get outfield help - Crawford, McLouth, Beltran? Starting Pitching help - Lackey, Sheets?

A couple of trade ideas currently are:
Pujols and Pelfrey for John Lackey and either Crawford/McLouth/or Adrian Gonzalez
or
Pujols and Pelfrey for Ryan Howard and Ben Sheets

I could also add J. Upton to sweeten the pot since this is a keeper league. What are your thought?

The only move I see worth it would be Pujols and Pelfrey for Lackey and Adrian Gonzalez, but remember you giving up Pujols.

I dont like Sheets (could get injured) and Adrian Gonzales will give you maybe a little less power but a heck of a lot higher batter average. So I think he is a better at this point.

I still dont know if I would get rid of Pujols though. He is going to miss about a month. Its still early in the season, so you cant be sure that trading him now will make you win or even put you in the top 3.

I wouldn't do any deal. Pujols has unlimited value in a keeper league.
Jay Bruce is mah franchize. I love you Chris Davis!

I agree totally with this. Try to move Morneau if you want to unload a 1b for some OF help. Right now you have three must-keep players with Pujols, Arod, and Reyes. If you keep both Lincecum and Pence for the rest of the season so you can protect whichever doesn't get drafted first, you should be in the best shape of any team going into next season.

A little help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=352619
