A nice rebound for sure. 10 K's, 0 BB and a big W.

I'll be looking for a lower pitch count next time, maybe he can go 7 or 8 ip.

People are stupid who hate so bad on this guy. Look at his overall #'s, (currently) 7-4, 3.65 ERA, 89 K in 111 IP, 34 walks in 111 IP, 1.27 WHIP. Very, very respectable, especially considering the team he plays for. Just because the genious' over at yahoo like to post notes about him talking trash, doesn't mean a thing to me. If you put those #'s under someone else's name who isn't a super star, let's say...Lilly. Cain. I don't know...Francis. Or a young prospect like say Cueto, people would be all over that. Baseball is a long season, and it's all about streaks. You're not always going to pitch 5-1 with a 2.18 ERA every six starts. Come on.

What happened to Greinke you ask? He's having an awesome year, that's what.

It seemed to me that Greinke was very hot and cold in his starts. I looked at some of his splits and the only thing that stood out was the home/away splits:

Home - 2.57 era
Away - 4.30 era

I'm going to try starting him at home every game, but only against poor-mediocre teams on the road and see how that pans out.
He has not given up more then three runs on starts at home, but 5@BAL, 4@NYY, 8@CHW, and 6@TOR.
Greinke is a homeboy.
