WTF? Where did this guy come from? I don't think he was ever a top prospect or anything. I'm just waiting for him to cool off so I can drop him but he's been so consistently good. Chris Shelton?

Doesn't make any sense to me. He was recently dropped actually in one of my leagues and still no one initially claimed him because no one believes he is for real. This years Carlos Pena??

Carlos Pena was a top prospect at one point and a former first round pick so I wouldn't quite compare Ludwick to Pena. It's difficult to find a good comparison, maybe Brad Hawpe 2007.

Yeah Pena was a top prospect in the Rangers system. Some interesting comps according to BP (remember that these are preseason comps):
Dwight Evans
Jesse Barfield
Jermaine Dye
Richard Hidalgo
Dave Henderson
Pete Incaviglia
Craig Wilson
Hawpe is a good comp as well. Very similar skill set. He may be one of those guys whose breakout season which also happens to be his peak season.

Ludwick's BABIP, flyball/linedrive rates are defnitely unsustainable.
Oh and I think it might be time for an ummmm yeah....... Dempster thread as well.

Those comps seem pretty appropriate. Lol at Craig Wilson, I kind of forgot about that guy. I had him on a few teams in 2004 during his breakout year, he had catcher eligibility that year

Well maybe not a top prospect but he was taken in the 2nd round, and he hit 29 homeruns in 490 abs in A ball, then had 25 homeruns in 440 abs in AA, and in AAA had 15 homeruns in 300 abs. Then back and forth between majors and minors and his last AAA season he hit 34 homeruns in 500 abs. So good source of power, No reason he can't have 30 homeruns by the end of the year.

I had him for a few games about month ago but figured he was droppable so now someone else has been rewarded. He is McLouthing it.
