It does, especially with the Cards breathing down their neck. This will be a big test of the Cubs' ability as a team to work through these 6 weeks - if they manage to stay near the top of the NL Central, it would be huge. My team now has Soriano, Ortiz, Furcal, and Wainwright on the DL. At least I know I'll be a lot better after the all star break!

It will be a good test of team cohesion. Fortunately they have won as a team thus far, so there is hope. I feel you on the injury bug, I get Peavy back tomorrow but lose Pujols for a few weeks...when it rains it pours.

Well, something tells me the Cards will be struggling to find offense for the next 3 weeks.....I wouldn't worry too much about the Cubs. They'll get past this.

I think the Cubs went on a big winning streak when he first went down this year.

I highly doubt it.. he was starting to go back to Old Soriano form before he got hurt, stealing 3 bases in 6 games for the Cubbies. Since his new injury is his hand, it won't affect his stealing ability at all. Plus, he gets 6 more weeks to heal his already-nearly-fully-healed calf. Soriano will definitely still be a base-stealing threat when he returns. Hopefully he doesn't lose his power though, good thing it was a hand injury and not a wrist one :^
