Venting About League

Postby bluebledthesea » Wed Jun 11, 2008 9:34 am

I'm in an 18 team ESPN league roto league. 18 teams! For some reason our league manager tried to get everyone possible to sign up, and in the end I'd say nearly half of the teams haven't done anything since the first week. I, on the other hand, probably put in an hour or two a day working on my team and studying the league, and am stuck ranked 7/18.

This is so frustrating! There are so many great players sitting on the bench and going to waste, plus, I'm getting beat by people who had a great draft and don't even care. Most of them don't even acknowledge trade offers, or just deny them right out and I'm basically stuck scrambling for free agents. I try to keep the offers fair and beneficial to the other teams, but sometimes I'm just like, look, if you're not going to use them, give me some decent players. The top three teams are dominating everyone and I don't think I can climb out of my hole without some good trades. I think our league has had maybe two or three trades total so far this year.

UGH! :-o

Has anyone else been in a position like this? If we had each put in $50 I highly doubt it would be like this. I can't wait for fantasy football season to start when I'm the league commissioner.

Stop obsessing over it. Take up golf. These guys aren't going to change.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

Ha, thanks... I play in a golf league every Monday.

I'm not obsessed, it's just frustrating that the league is such a waste. This is also my way of saying that I'm starting to care less about what happens in this league because it's so messed up to begin with. I just wanted to commiserate with someone who had been through the same thing.

This is why I'm glad I'm the commish. Right now I have an 11 team league in which all of the people are at least moderately active.

Yes, even in fantasy baseball there is a decent amount of luck involved. Sometimes your teams just don't pan out even though you may have a far superior knowledge of the player pool involved, happens all the time actually. Just gotta roll with the punches.

IMO, 18 teams are about 6 too many. But hey, they all chipped in $50 so it's like free money!
