For my list, I will go with a little career and a little peak value and say:

Baseball - Babe Ruth: There is no contest, IMHO.
Football - Jim Brown: I will go peak value and go with him. No one better at their peak.
Basketball - Wilt Chamberlain: Most dominant player ever.
Hockey - Wayne Gretzky: Best ever.*

*I say this actually believing that Mario Lemieux is the most "talented" player ever. That said, I believe that Gretzky is the best overall player ever.

I agree that Bonds is close, bud, but I gotta put Ruth there. Do you agree or do you put Bonds above Ruth?? I can't do that yet. ;-)

For my tastes, Babe was the the best ever and he also pitched. I gotta put him at the top. ;-D

Basketball - MJ. No contest. Wilt dominated a different game. I've done quite a bit of research on this, and MJ was simply the best of the best. Magic was up there, too.

Baseball - The Babe. Give Bonds a curve and he's #1 in my book.

Hockey - Don't know anything but gotta go with Gretzky.

Football - Same as hockey but I'd take Joe Montana. The guy was amazing.

Wow I'm the odd man out. Babe Ruth barely makes my top 5 all time.
