LOOKING GOOD: Corey Patterson is off to an impressive start in camp. The center fielder is hitting the ball with authority and not showing signs of being affected by last July's left knee surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament. So much for all those scare-headline concerns months ago that Patterson might not be ready physically to go full tilt in spring training.

''It's a tribute to how hard he has worked,'' Baker said.

The Cubs are waiting to see how Patterson handles sliding and aren't certain yet how much he will be tested early in the Cactus League schedule. The real challenge for Patterson will come in April, when the Cubs play in cold weather. If the knee doesn't tighten in those conditions, he is home free

Is Corey Patterson going to be able to get over his injury from last year and continue to break out into a great fantasy player? and is he worth drafting, if so what rd?

If it helps, I grabbed him at #119 (10th round, 12 teams).

I am big on Patterson for this season.. I have gotten him in the 15th round neighborhood in a couple of my drafts... might have slipped further but I didn't want to risk losing out

I couldn't miss this post.....I agree w/ most that the sb's might not be there right away, but they will come, he is young and I believe will fully recover. I would say if you want him for sure, take him in the 9th round at the latest. Alot of people are big on him, unless your league is all rookies......he definetly is not a sleeper.

ive managed to grab him around the 15th/16th rnds in a couple of my drafts. i seemed to piss off a few other guys tho as they were looking to grab him in the next rnd....ah well...

I got Patterson at the end of the 14th round (#168) of a 12 team league and missed out on him in a mock draft where he went #163--14th round of a 12 team.

I think he was a fairly safe steal in the 14th round. I currently have him ranked as my #25 outfielder (#14 in the NL).

Yeeesh, from some of what I'm seeing about other leagues, I may have pulled the trigger too early....

I think it all depends on the mangers in your league. I've seen him going from like the 11th to 16th.
