Buy low on Pedro NOW

I'm watching the SD game at the moment. The one big thing I'm noticing is that Pedro has added a few mph compared to his first few seasons with the Mets. Instead of throwing 85-88 and topping out at 90, he is now throwing regularly around 90 mph and has hit 93 3-4 times in the first inning.

Ironically, he looks like he's been hit pretty hard b/c a lot of bloop singles and a balk (of all things). If you guys can buy low on Pedro after today, I would do it. His command looks good, better than his first game back in SF, and his changeup and curveball are still top-shelf offerings. I'd actually say he has better control over his change than his fastball at this point...but if the velocity stays there and he gets his fastball command back completely, watch out.

If he can consistently throw in the low 90's, he can put up a sub 3.00 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP easily in the second half.

I 100% agree, great time to buy him for nothing. It looks like he got owned today but he really didn't.

I don't know about that, but I'm on the bandwagon with ya to be more than serviceable for a guy is sitting on quite a few WW's and benches.

I bought low on him in two leagues, hopefully it's not just a homer move...

NL leagues, very deep mixed leagues maybe but in standard leagues I wouldn't let him go every 5 days.

It would have to be a very low "buy low".

I don't really see how today's game provides a push to go buy him. He finished with a line of 7.20 ERA and 2.00 WHIP. He had a really bad day.

Because 10 singles + no walks or XB hits in a 5 innings start is not really a cause for alarm.

The whole point is that the numbers don't reflect how well he pitched. Good velocity, good location, good movement, these are the things you're looking for from Pedro. Just so happens a bunch of bloops fell in.
