I am curious about the reasons for the way the lineups are constructed. Is it me or are both managers being extremely pigheaded? Leyland went two months with a sub .200 hitting Sheffield in the 3-hole, all the while refusing to move Miggy into that spot. Recently he has been willing to bat Palanco of all people in the 3 spot and still refussing to move MCab into that spot. Marcus Thames? Check.
And with Yost, not that the 5 spot is a bad place for Corey Hart, but why not bat him lead-off where he excelled last year instead of a .200 hitting Weeks? Or even instead of Cameron, whose sub .250 batting average is taking up the number 2 spot?
With both of these linups, is it a case of being so pig-headed that neither is willing to budge from their original ideas? Does it really make sense to keep going with the status quo?
