You really do need speed and even with A-Rod and Giambi, you could be struggling with power a bit.
Your SP is top, top shelf, but you may need to trade one of those 3 horses for speed and another big slugger.

First the good news: You got a really nice starting rotation.

Now the bad news: I don't like your hitting, I hate your relievers and I think you reached too much on several picks.....

You have adequate power, although I'd like to see one more stud in the OF. Steals are going to be tough to come by, although if Stewart is leading off he is a decent chance for 20-25 SB's. Castillo is a waste of a pick if he's not stealing. He needs to nab 45+ steals to justify his draft position.

Your bullpen is.....how to put this gently.....? Atrocious! Dude you have one (1) closer! The other four relievers on your team are all set-up and long relief types. GET SOME CLOSERS!!!

Lastly, I really think you reached on some picks, notably Matsui in the 6th, Moyer in the 7th and Mauer in the 14th...... Matsui is more of a middle round pick: 8-12. Moyer is going to be over-rated on a lot of draft boards this year because of last season. He is not going to win 20 games again and he is a control pitcher sliding into his early 40's. You could have (or at least should have) waited until after the 10th to grab him. Mauer is a shot in the dark. Not a bad pick in the 20th round; not a good pick in the 14th! Even if he has an above average rookie campaign, he is unlikely to move into the upper echelon of catchers for a couple more years......

I hope this isn't too harsh. I just think that with your team as it stands now, you will struggle to finish middle of the pack....

I'd be especially worried considering Giambi's weight loss/loss of steroids.

matsui and Hasegawa For Beltran.
Moyer for percival
Moyer for posada

I dont expect the posada trade to go through, but you need to start some where

the only trade out of the 3 that you proposed that has a shot is the percival for moyer one. the other two will not be accepted.

I wouldn't expect anyone to accept Matsui and Shiggy for Beltran. Any way you break that one down, it's a horrible deal for the owner of Beltran. Granted, you have to start somewhere, but I think if I had that trade proposed to me, I might just delete it without a counter-offer just because I'd feel offended. Talk about lowball.....
