He, and the mariners, say his arm if fine... but he never pitched any rehab when he came back from the bruised rib (which usually spells inconsistency and control problems) and he also has struggled with a blister... his velocity is still mid 90s, but last year at this point it was 97-99... so that's the general nature of it... lots of mixed signals. The worst part of all of this is he's not getting consistent saves opportunities and is being used sparingly and in "abnormal" situations so it's hard to gauge how he is right now. I think if he starts getting consistent saves opportunities we will have a much better idea where he stands. If you have roster room try to handcuff him with Morrow... I have faith in JJ and I think his past two seasons have earned him some leeway here, especially considering the mariners are finished for this year and they want morrow to ultimately be a starter.
